He confronts Trevor, who admits that Juror Number Seven is a plant, and that his company is funded by Russian mobsters; he insists that he had nothing to do with the deaths of Lara, Rilz, or Jerry, but Lara was going to divorce him, putting the Russians' money at risk. Mickey remembers his father's words: it is harder to live with losing a case when you know your client is innocent.

Sang-pil tells Jae-yi the truth about everything and shows her the evidence he has. Later she confronts Hyung-man, who tells her he killed her mother. Jae-yi is grief stricken, but cannot bring herself to tell her father. Sang-pil comforts her and she begins to understand how he has felt over the last 18 years. Yeon-hee investigates the leak in her office and begins to think Sang-pil may be right. Oh-joo continues his campaign and reveals that he will put his company in a Abogados en Palermo blind trust. Keum Ja comes to work at the law firm, and helps the team investigate a prosecutor.

When Grant attempts to suppress the subpoena, Mickey uses media pressure and Bondurant's threatening email to goad him into agreeing to testify at trial, but Judge Medina tells Mickey he will need further evidence of Grant's involvement. Cisco discovers that Henry's executive producer works for Grant, and Mickey confronts Henry, who admits he stole the contract but denies arranging Mickey's assault. Mickey and Maggie spend a passionate night together, but she reveals she has accepted a promotion in Santo Diego and cannot continue their on-off relationship.

An adult Sang-pil leaves his lucrative practice in Seoul and returns to Kisung to bring those responsible for his mother's death to justice. He takes over a loan shark business and converts it into the Lawless Law Firm. Jae-yi, who has been suspended from practicing law after assaulting a judge, loses her job, and also returns home to Kisung.

The upcoming season raises the stakes for Mickey, Triunfador the attorney is determined to seek justice after the murder of a close friend. Lead star Garcia-Rulfo called season three “very exciting,” adding, “we see Mickey struggling with so many things at the same time — with romance, with the wives, with the cases.

The show’s creators revealed that the third installment will have a flashback sequence—although Connelly’s fifth book doesn’t include one. “We decided that a fun (and poignant) way to come into the season would be via a flashback sequence that gave us some insight into how Mickey Haller became Mickey Haller — not just Abogados Palermo Capital Federal the brilliant criminal defense lawyer, but the husband, the father, and the man that he would come to be.”
